Events                   Dinner with SJTU President ZHANG JIe on 4/15


Dear Alumni and Friends

Shanghai Jiao Tong University President ZHANG Jie will visit LA on Tuesday April 15. This will be his first trip to LA after taking the helm of SJTU in November 2006. President Zhang will love to meet with alumni and outstanding scholars in Southern California. He will make presentation on the latest SJTU development, overseas recruitment plans, as well as potential cooperation opportunities with SJTU.

A networking session and a dinner meeting will be held for our alumni and friends to meet with President Zhang. The details are as follows:

4 ~ 5pm: Press Conference (San Antonio Room)
5 ~ 7pm: Networking session (San Antonio Room)
7 ~ 9pm: Dinner meeting (Santa Barbra Room)

About President Zhang Jie
   Born in 1958, President ZHANG Jie received his PhD in Optical and Atomic & Molecular Physics from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China in 1988, where he then started his career as a research scientist. He made important achievements and received numerous academic honors and awards in the areas of x-ray lasers, high field physics, and laser-plasma physics. Because of his outstanding academic accomplishment, he was elected in 2003 as Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the highest academic title in China.
