Dr. Ping
Zhou received the BS and MS degrees in electrical
engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU)
in 1998 and 2001, respectively, and the PhD degree in
electrical and computer engineering from University of
California, San Diego (UCSD)
in 2008. He has been with
Qualcomm, Inc. since January 2008, where he is currently
a senior system engineer in the QCT Modem Technology Systems
group. He is the author of more than 20 technical papers and
two books in the field of wireless networking and wireless
communications. He is a member of the
IEEE and
ACM.
Ping Zhou was awarded the highest honor from
SJTU for undergraduate student in 1997– the Top 1%
Outstanding Student Award (优异生).
Serving as the President of the Student Science and
Technology Association of SJTU, he founded the First SJTU
Student Business Plan Competition in 1999, which is now one of the
most famous brands for SJTU student events. Ping Zhou
was awarded research fellowship from California
Institute of Telecommunication and Information Technology (CALIT2)
from 2001 to 2006. In 2008, he got a best paper award from
IEEE and IEEE Communication Society in
IEEE Consumer Communications & Networking
Conference (CCNC).
Currently Dr. Zhou serves as the vice
President of Chiao Tung (Jiao Tong) University Alumni
Association of Southern California (CTUAA-SC)
and Secretary of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Foundation of America (SJTUFA).
He is also a member of the Chinese-American Engineers and
Scientists Association of Southern California (CESASC).
