Katherine He founded Shanghai Jiao Tong University Foundation of America (SJTUFA) in 2005 and have been managing it since.  She serves as Chairwoman and President of the volunteer-run non-profit organization.

Katherine graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 1985 with a BSME degree and received her MSME degree in 1990 from Drexel University in Philadelphia. She retired from Edwards Lifesciences in 2020 after a fulfilling 30-year career in the medical device field, specializing in the development of cutting-edge implantable cardiovascular devices.

Katherine served as the president of Chiao Tung University Alumni Association of Southern California (CTUAA-SC) from 2005 to 2007, and president of Chiao Tung University Alumni Association in America (CTUAAA) from 2015 to 2022.
